Mr Luto & Sons is a game under development through which we, Hariom and Sumit, are trying to understand the world as a place to enjoy, create a moment. A question that we have been asking ourselves and would like to ask you: Do we really exist in the world? Do you exist in the world?

We are building this game to find the answers to this question, and invite you to play our game to know the world of enjoyment, how it is civilizing you, disciplining you and how you are controlled by the game (of life). Experience incidents of your precarious life of finding enjoyment.

The precariousness of our lives today, living in a global pandemic and under exploitative structures and regimes, is something we have been trying to explore, as have our classmates, in this collective newsletter. Mr Luto & Sons is one mode through which we are trying to bring the understanding and consciousness of 'living' and of being exploited today to as many people as possible, with this newsletter having acted as an entry point to a long journey of developing this project further.

The game derives instances and slices of exploitation, even helplessness, from some universal facts that we have increasingly seen playing out in this moment. The gap between the rich and the poor is only increasing, with the pandemic destroying many while a few reap profits. It is an understood fact that the global market, the banking systems and all other related exploitative and capitalist structures promote each other and not the common man, who is stepped on. We would like this game to reach that common man, for them to be able to see a small slice of the vicious circle they are running, for them to identify their disciplining and control.
